We repair, rebuild &
reline every chimney
From cracked stacks to complete rebuilds — and we handle the insurance claim from start to finish so you don't have to.
Most chimney damage is
invisible until it's dangerous
Chimney fires often burn inside the flue without visible flames. Water vapour from combustion creates sulphuric acid that eats into mortar joints. Storm damage cracks stacks that look fine from the ground. By the time you see smoke in the wrong room or debris in the fireplace, the damage is already serious.
Jonathon uses CCTV camera inspection to see what's happening inside your flue — identifying cracks, blockages, and structural damage that can't be spotted any other way.

Why chimneys fail — and what
each problem means for you
Mortar Joint Failure
Water vapour from combustion creates sulphuric acid inside the flue. Over years, this eats into the mortar joints between bricks, causing them to crumble. Once joints fail, water gets in and damage accelerates — especially through freeze-thaw cycles in winter.
→ Requires repointing or rebuild
Invisible Chimney Fires
When unseasoned wood is burned, sticky creosote tar builds up inside the flue. This can ignite without visible flames — burning inside the liner and cracking it from the inside. You might not even know it's happened until smoke starts leaking into rooms or debris falls into the fireplace.
→ Requires CCTV inspection + relining
Pre-1960s Construction
Many older Irish homes — farmhouses, cottages, period properties — were built without chimney liners. The flue is just bare stone or brick, often with gaps and cracks that allow heat transfer to combustible materials. This is both a fire hazard and a carbon monoxide risk.
→ Requires new liner installation

How we approach
every chimney repair
Real photos from real jobs — this is how we inspect, diagnose, and repair chimneys across Ireland.
On-site inspection
Jonathon arrives and conducts a full visual assessment of the property — inside and out. The homeowner reported damp in multiple bedrooms and a chimney that wasn't drawing properly after recent storms.
Cleaning before inspection
Before the CCTV camera can go in, the chimney needs to be swept clean. Jonathon lays protective dust sheets and sweeps the flue from the fireplace opening. No mess guaranteed — every time.
Camera inside the flue
Jonathon feeds the HD CCTV camera into the flue to inspect the internal condition. The live feed shows cracks, blockages, and structural damage that can't be seen from the top or bottom. This footage forms the basis of the insurance report.
Evidence for the insurer
The CCTV monitor records HD footage of every inch of the flue. Jonathon compiles this into a certified insurance report with imagery and submits it directly to the insurance company. You don't have to deal with the insurer at all.
Professional setup
Once the insurance claim is approved, scaffolding goes up with a material hoist for getting supplies to the chimney safely. This is a full professional operation — not a man with a ladder.
This is how every chimney repair job is handled — professionally, safely, and with full insurance management from start to finish.
